A 3D view is a visualization
Our map represents available aircraft-position data in a three-dimensional scene. It is not video from the cockpit or a passenger camera. A realistic-looking aircraft model does not prove that a position is current; read the available update information and allow for gaps.
Start by opening the live map and selecting an aircraft, or search using a complete flight number. On a small screen, let the map finish loading before repeatedly tapping controls.
Read the flight panel before drawing conclusions
The panel can show altitude, speed, heading and vertical speed when those values are supplied. They describe different parts of the aircraft’s motion. Do not interpret one missing value as a fault with the aircraft.
Departure and destination airports come from a separate route lookup. They may be unavailable or out of date. Compare the route with the operating airline if you are checking a journey. The panel does not currently provide dated scheduled or actual arrival and departure times.
Find the details on a phone
After selecting a flight, scroll within the mobile flight panel to see sections below the first screen. Airport weather, aircraft details and additional avionics appear only when their data is available. A vertical profile needs enough trail points; its absence is not a flight-status signal.
Where First Person View is available, it changes the viewing perspective. It remains a rendered scene. Exit that view to return to the normal map and flight details; it is not a separate live camera feed.
Use weather and route details for context
Airport temperature and forecasts describe airport conditions, not the temperature inside the aircraft. Check the report time before using the information. Weather data alone cannot establish whether a flight is delayed or safe to operate.
For pickup plans, boarding, gates or disruptions, use the official airline result. Our directory makes that handoff easy while the map remains useful for exploring the aircraft’s available position.
If the map is slow or incomplete
Try a current browser, check your connection and close other demanding tabs. Managed devices can restrict graphics features. If only one flight is missing, try its complete callsign and check coverage before treating the issue as a page-loading problem.
Avoid repeated reloads while a lookup is pending. If the service reports no match, use the airline status page instead. The map is for general exploration, not aircraft navigation or operational decisions.

Flight status by airline →How this guide is maintained
We review terminology against aviation and airline sources, test examples against the behavior of our own tracker, and separate position data from passenger-status claims. We do not invent a live status when a data source is missing. Corrections can be sent through the contact page.
