What it means
How long it has been since the displayed aircraft position was last updated or received by the service. A newer timestamp generally gives you more confidence that the point is current.

LIVE FLIGHT TRACKER MAP
Opens at realtime.liveflighttrackermap.com
Decorative concept artwork · Coverage varies
When supplied by the available data, the tracker can display an aircraft identifier, altitude, speed, heading, vertical movement, route context, aircraft details and airport weather. A missing field means that detail is not available to the page at that moment; it is not evidence that something is wrong with the aircraft.
The tracker is not a booking system, an air-traffic-control display or a cockpit instrument. It cannot confirm your boarding gate, check-in status, baggage belt, cancellation entitlement or whether a passenger has reached arrivals. Route and airport details can also come from separate lookups and may lag operational changes.
Public aircraft tracking depends on data coverage and service availability. Receiver geometry, altitude, geography, filtering and temporary interruptions can all create gaps. A smooth animation can interpolate between reports, so visual motion should never be mistaken for a new measurement. Look for the update time when the application provides it.
Check your internet connection and browser graphics support. Some managed devices limit WebGL or other 3D features. Close unusually demanding tabs and try a current browser. If only one flight is missing, verify the identifier rather than repeatedly reloading the whole application.
For schedules, check-in, boarding, cancellations and gates, use the official airline services. A tracking view does not replace those updates.
FLIGHT IDENTIFIER HELPER
Enter a passenger-facing flight number from one of the airlines in our directory. This helper separates the airline designator from the numeric service number and, where available, shows the operator identifier a flight tracker may use. It does not check whether the flight is operating now.
Emirates · passenger code EK · service number 202
Operator reference: UAE · radio callsign: EMIRATES. Emirates tickets use EK while aviation feeds can identify the operator as UAE. The numeric part of a live operating callsign can also differ in edge cases.
Identifier mappings are reference information, not live operational status. Codeshares, repositioning flights and operational callsigns can differ from the number on a passenger itinerary.
TRACKER FIELD DECODER
Choose a field you may see on a flight tracker. The explanation separates what the field can reasonably tell you from conclusions it cannot support on its own.
How long it has been since the displayed aircraft position was last updated or received by the service. A newer timestamp generally gives you more confidence that the point is current.
It does not prove continuous coverage between updates. Smooth marker motion can be visual interpolation rather than a new aircraft report.
Use the timestamp first. If the flight matters to a passenger decision, confirm status with the operating airline or airport.
This is an interpretation aid, not live flight status or operational aviation guidance.
A useful habit is to ask four questions: which aircraft or flight does this identifier describe, how old is the position, which fields came from live aircraft data, and which details came from a separate route or weather lookup? That approach prevents a visually convincing map from becoming a source of false certainty.
For deeper explanations, read our guides to flight numbers and callsigns, ADS-B, MLAT and radar, and why trackers can disagree.
