- Have your flight number, travel date and departure airport ready. Open the official status service linked below.
- Select the matching flight and read the labels: scheduled, estimated and actual times mean different things. Check the local date and time zone.
- Use the airline or airport to confirm gates, terminals, check-in and disruptions. Information shown varies; status lookup is not the same as check-in.
Using the airline’s search
Southwest separates route search from flight-number search and asks for a departure date. Match the departure and arrival airports to the segment you need. A connecting itinerary involves separate flight legs; the status of one leg does not confirm the next one.
Method 2: our live flight map
- Open the tracker, use its flight-number search and enter the number from your itinerary, including the airline prefix where required.
- Match the route or aircraft details before following a result. Read the available update time; a moving marker does not guarantee a fresh observation.
- If no matching flight is available, confirm the date and operating airline, then use the official status page. Missing position data does not prove a cancellation.

The airline is the source for passenger travel updates. The map is for exploring aircraft positions where data is available. This page does not fetch live airline results, guarantee coverage, or provide booking, check-in or rebooking services.
Before you travel or collect someone
Recheck the official result before leaving for the airport. An aircraft landing does not mean passengers are ready at arrivals: taxiing, disembarkation and baggage take time. For a connection, check each flight separately. If sources disagree, contact the operating airline.
