Method 1: our live flight map
What you can see
Follow available aircraft positions in 3D, with altitude, speed and heading. Flight details may include aircraft information, departure and destination airports, and airport weather such as temperature. Extra avionics and a vertical profile appear when data is available. Coverage varies; this is not a source of scheduled or actual departure and arrival dates or times.
- Enter your flight number in the field below and open the map. It will search for a live match and open the flight details when available.
- Match the route or aircraft details before following a result. Read the available update time; a moving marker does not guarantee a fresh observation.
- If no matching flight is available, confirm the date and operating airline, then use the official status page. Missing position data does not prove a cancellation.
Method 2: official airline flight status
What you can see
Use the airline for dated departure and arrival status, including scheduled, estimated or actual times where supplied. Gate, terminal and disruption information varies by airline. Follow its separate check-in or booking service for passenger actions.
- Have your flight number, travel date and departure airport ready. Open the official status service linked below.
- Select the matching flight and read the labels: scheduled, estimated and actual times mean different things. Check the local date and time zone.
- Use the airline or airport to confirm gates, terminals, check-in and disruptions. Information shown varies; status lookup is not the same as check-in.
Using the airline’s search
Qantas provides status information for Qantas and QantasLink. For a QF-marketed flight operated by another airline, check that operator too. The Qantas page notes that a multi-stop flight shows only its previous stop; confirm the segment you need rather than treating one row as the whole itinerary. Gates can change, and codeshare updates can lag the operating carrier.
Qantas identifier quick reference
| Passenger airline code | QF |
|---|---|
| ICAO operator code | QFA |
| Radio callsign | QANTAS |
| Example passenger format | QF12 |
Qantas and QantasLink services can be presented differently across passenger and tracking systems, so the operating service matters.
How to verify a Qantas tracker match
- Check the exact segment on multi-stop journeys.
- Compare the operating carrier on codeshares.
- Use the airline result for gate and schedule changes.
These identifiers are reference information. They do not confirm that a particular flight is operating, and an operational callsign can differ from a passenger flight number.
Two methods, different answers
The airline is the source for passenger travel updates. The map is for exploring aircraft positions where data is available. This page does not fetch live airline results, guarantee coverage, or provide booking, check-in or rebooking services.
Before you travel or collect someone
Recheck the official result before leaving for the airport. An aircraft landing does not mean passengers are ready at arrivals: taxiing, disembarkation and baggage take time. For a connection, check each flight separately. If sources disagree, contact the operating airline.
